FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
General Seminar Questions
Click on a question below:

What are the necessary prerequisites for each seminar?

All of the NCCE "Understanding and Analyzing Financial Statements," whether for Attorneys, Non-Financial Professionals, Franchisee Owners, etc. have no prerequisites. "Modern Engineering Economics" has no prerequisites, either.

"How to Value a Business for Attorneys" requires a basic understanding of financial statements and financial ratios. Such an understanding can be obtained by attending NCCE’s one-day seminar titled, "Understanding and Analyzing Financial Statements for Attorneys.

Our seminars for financial professionals and CPAs have both a one-page description of the seminar and a detailed description on our web page. The one-page description states each seminar’s prerequisites in conformance with NASBA requirements. In general there are very minimal prerequisites for most seminars but we do assume a basic knowledge of financial statements for our accounting, auditing, and financial seminars. Those seminars that feature Excel also assume a basic knowledge of some version of Excel.

NCCE Workforce seminars are extremely basic, designed for individuals who want to learn bookkeeping and get a job in that field, and have a high school degree or GED equivalent. Workforce seminars have no prerequisites.

At what time does the seminar start and conclude?

For our in-house seminar clients the seminars start and conclude whenever the client says.

For one-day NCCE public seminars:
Registration starts at 8:30 AM, with the class starting at 9:00 AM. Lunch is on your own from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. The seminar concludes at 5:00 PM.

For two-day NCCE public seminars:
On day one, sign-in and registration starts at 8:30 AM, with the class starting at 9:00 AM. Lunch is on your own from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. The seminar concludes at 5:00 PM.

On day two, the class starts at 8:30 AM. Lunch is on your own from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. The seminar concludes at 4:30 PM.

What is the dress code?

Most attendees choose to wear business casual attire.

What do I need to bring with me?

For all NCCE public seminars we request you bring your confirmation letter. If you registered late and have not yet made payment, please bring your invoice and a form of payment (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, check or money order to the seminar to complete registration).

For "Understanding and Analyzing Financial Statements", and "Modern Engineering Economics" we also recommend you bring a small hand-held calculator.

For our seminars designed for financial professionals and CPAs it is not necessary to bring a lap top (or electronic notebook) but in many instances it is helpful. Please see below.

Should I bring my laptop?

This is recommended for our seminars for financial professionals and CPAs but not required. Although the instructor may use a laptop for the presentation, laptops are not required for attendees.

Participants tell us that the NCCE seminars featuring Excel 2010 are easier to follow when the participants have their laptop with them.

If you have a laptop or electronic notebook and would like to bring it, feel free. Please keep in mind, however, that electrical outlets are not available.

For two-day seminars, what is covered on day one? Day two?

Our online PDF seminar brochures contain the seminar agenda. In general, the first half of the material is covered on the first day and the remaining information is presented on day two. However, each course varies due to particular circumstances, instructors and participant interest and questions.

If you would like to download a particular brochure, visit our download page.

What should I do if I have not yet received my confirmation letter?

We make every effort to process registrations as quickly as we receive them. However, please keep in mind that confirmation letters are processed and emailed within 3 days of receipt of payment.

Please feel free to contact the Registration Department at contact@nccetraining.com or at 850-561-6081 to check on the status of your registration or to request another copy of your confirmation letter.

What are the other dates and locations of NCCE’s public seminars?

NCCE is only offering in-house seminars until spring 2013, when we will offer both in-house seminars and seminars for the general public.

To be placed on the NCCE mailing list and receive announcements in advance of public seminars being held in your location in 2013, please sign up here.

Where can I get a list of all your current seminars?

To find a complete list of our offerings, please visit our seminars page.

Will I get any materials before the seminar?

We email the seminar materials to participants 5 days before the public seminar. Participants can then print out the seminar material and bring it to the seminar.

If for some reason you require the printed materials there will be an additional charge of $40.00 for shipping and handling. Such requests must be made at least ten working days before the seminar. Please note that seminar pre-payment is required and the materials are non-refundable.

When is the Early Bird Deadline?

For public seminars, NCCE offers a discount if you register before the “early bird” registration deadline. Generally this date is 30 days before the seminar date.

If you have a public seminar brochure, it can be found on the lower half of the registration page, underneath "Payment Method". Otherwise, you may call us for this information at 850-561-6081.

What is your cancellation/refund policy if I need to cancel my registration?

If you have submitted payment, you must submit a written request at least seven business days prior to the seminar date. The request must include your name, your confirmation number and the action you would like to take (e.g., send someone in your place, request a full credit transfer, request the materials and a partial refund or request a refund which may be subject to a cancellation fee).

If you have not yet submitted payment, you must submit a written cancellation request, prior to the seminar date, which includes your name and your invoice number.

Written cancellation requests can be e-mailed to contact@nccetraining.com, faxed to 850-222-4862 or mailed to:
National Center for Continuing Education
967 Briarcliff Drive
Tallahassee, FL 32308

In fairness to all attendees, pre-registered individuals who do not submit a written request prior to the seminar are liable for the entire fee.

For more information on administrative policies regarding refunds or complaints, please contact our offices at 850-561-6081 or e-mail your question to contact@nccetraining.com.
