Modern Financial Analysis

What you'll learn...
Modern Financial Analysis is an advanced seminar for CPAs, CFOs and financial executives. In addition to reviewing basic financial analysis and basic business valuation principles, we examine Economic Value Added (EVA), Value Line and Standard & Poors reports, stock price turnaround illustrations, financial ratios to predict a takeover and technical analysis (timing a stock sale or purchase). We also review the CANSLIM method for selecting stocks and then use the Internet to screen 12,000 issues for small-cap equities that have the best chance of rapid price appreciation. We use real-world illustrations and stress how to improve shareholder value.

In two dynamic days you will: review the most pertinent financial topics covered in the MBA core curriculum; learn the latest financial concepts, including new cash flow ratios and Economic Value Added (EVA) concepts; and discover how to use the Internet for powerful financial research and analysis. Unleash the awesome potential of your PC for financial research, financial modeling and investment analysis-- online!

In-house Presentations ...
When you bring Modern Financial Analysis in-house, the course encompasses a complete financial analysis of a public company of your choice, including: Horizontal and vertical analysis; ratio analysis related to liquidity, activity, leverage and profit; a thorough review of the company’s statement of cash flow (FASB 95), including the new cash flow ratios, and review of the Z-Score to predict bankruptcy. We also review five-year trends (trend analysis), graph the results, and review a five-year PEG (P/E Multiple to Compound Earnings Growth Rate).

As a group, we’ll also calculate the company’s annual Economic Value Added (added shareholder value) and the DuPont formula to stress profitability. We’ll review these items from a practical, computerized point of view.

Some of our past in-house clients include Hewlett Packard, Stanley Tools, Harley-Davidson, Fortune Magazine and General Mills.
